Placements-Internships

MISCO is actively participating in students’ job search to further increase their practicality and facilitate their transition to the world of work. Local and foreign students who are currently attending education programmes such as undergraduate courses or secretarial diploma courses would like to gain experience and practise what they are learning by being provided with a work placement or an internship. Opportunities are currently available for companies wishing to recruit Economics and Accountancy Final Year students and students in the process of acquiring a Diploma in Secretarial Studies.

Economics and Accountancy Students

The University of Transylvania in Brasov, Romania is taking part in the Leonardo program. As part of the program, they are sending students on international internships for 6 to 8 weeks as from October 2009. The University has asked its local AIESEC committee to assist them with the internships since AIESEC already runs a highly successful global internship program. These students would come exclusively from the Faculty of Economics, and are 2nd and 3rd year students following an Hons. Degree as well as 2nd year students following a Masters Degree. Although AIESEC usually charges an administration fee for the sourcing of interns from our database, all costs including the salary for these interns is covered by the interns' University through the Leonardo program. This is a unique opportunity for interested companies and institutions as they stand to gain high quality interns with all costs covered. AIESEC has a strict selection proceduce and all exchange participants are required to attend preparatory training which ensures that only quality individuals get through. AIESEC supply interns to various companies around the world such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, DHL, and ING to mention a few. The only investment the company would need to make is training and orientation of these interns for the first couple of weeks.

Secretarial Students

Learnkey Secreterial School is currently seeking organisations to help some of its students undergoing a Diploma in Secreterial Studies course, to widen their practical knowledge. Companies can benefit from the engagment of part-time clerks in winter and full-timers in summer.

Such placements do not involve any recruitment fees. Employees will work on a voluntary basis. For more information please contact Nathalie Gatt on 2205 4502 or Maria Zahra on 2205 4501.
