The European Tourism Indicators System for Sustainable Management at Destination Level (ETIS) is a tool to help in the measurement and monitoring of the sustainability of tourism management. ETIS, which is currently in a first testing phase, is scheduled to end on 15 April 2014 and will involve the active participation of around 100 tourist destinations throughout Europe.
The European Commission is now launching a call for expressions of interest with respect to a second pilot phase which will run from 1st April 2014 up to 31 December 2014. The call will be open to individual tourist destinations as well as to networks of tourist destinations from all EU Member States and to candidate countries which would have not participated in the first testing phase.
Application forms must be submitted to ENTR-ETIS@ec.europa.eu by not later than 15th March 2014.
